Kurt Wurmil revealed the pictures in Hijikata’s first scrapbook from his PhD Dissertation known as The Power of Image: Hijikata Tatsumi’s Scrapbooks and The Art of Buto.1
In this scrapbook 1 called Avalanche Candy (which is the most popular), Hijikata had a total of 41 images. He used the following artists: Gustav Klimt, Hans Richter, Christoph Donin, Pablo Picasso, William Turner, Willem de Kooning, Egon Schiele, Kolde Narashige, Arshile Gorki, Salvador Dali, Aristide Caillaud, Francis Bacon, and Shmizu Ichiro. Some artists are unidentified.
